icemedia was founded 15 years ago and employs around 40 people. We design and build websites and web applications. But we do a lot more than that.
icemedia was founded 15 years ago and employs around 40 people. In 2003 we became part of the Dialog group of companies.
We primarily design and build websites and web applications.
But we do a lot more than that.
Over the years you gather many experiences, take on many personas, and ultimately change a lot. You grow. Maybe you leave some things behind. Mostly you collect things. Maybe you've outgrown your favourite shoes, and maybe the shirt with the funny slogan you felt perfectly defined your personality doesn't seem so funny anymore.
icemedia has been around - been creating design, IT and multimedia experiences since before we had an ‘industry' to fit into. Before we had a lexicon of terms to classify what it was we were even doing. So we're pretty good at existing in the unknown. We're a little like cosmonauts (the Russians got there first).
In the past we've tried 'defining' ourselves to varying levels of success. We've found categories and tried to jam ourselves into them - "IT Professionals", "Multimedia Developers", "Creative Designers", "Experts" - like trying to classify a new musical genre it was uneasy and ultimately limits the potential audience/appeal.
The thing is - we don't just do one thing. We make websites. We make applications. We make beautiful touch screen experiences. We make intelligent backend solutions that you'll never even see. We're designers and engineers and producers. We're conversationalists and visual artists and intellectuals. But without a brief - without a context into which to funnel our collective talent we're just potential. And that's where you come in. We need you to help complete the picture. We need you to validate our existence.
We exist to experience and similarly our experiences shape our existence. We aren't so much what we do or what we've done as what we will do or what we want to do.
We still make Multimedia CDs, for example. We never put anything down, really - but we're always finding new things to pick up - and new reasons to explore new areas. In a way - as long as there is a market or need we will continue to practise our crafts or learn new ones. We are a reflection of the work that has been requested by you, our clients. Even without direct experience of your business - we are able to empathise - take on board, change ourselves to match the brief. Become what is required to meet your expectations. We are uniquely able to do this because our people are unique. We are crafty, multidisciplinary, focused and specialised. We're a bit of a contradiction. We encourage our people to explore multiple areas of discipline or technologies, while maintaining expertise. We don't have a single "SharePoint expert" or "Design guru" likewise everyone is equally able to comment on the colour of a graphic design as they are the functionality and flow or a web form. Our stock of experiences - our knowledge and our talent, our curiosity and creativity - are each applied in an effort to find a solution to your challenge.
In a way we are like a family - or a bloodline - like a monarchy (without all the inbreeding). Likeminded people attract likeminded people - and so it goes. What we are now - we always were. We're creative, passionate, interested, always learning and never sated. We're beautiful. And we want to show you what we can do.
