icemedia started in 1990 in a basement in Kenmore with a good idea and unbounded enthusiasm, and grew into an Australian success story.
The business began as a seller of computer hardware, but the founders had a vision - design and build software focused on clever, high-end functionality and usability. This was icemedia's future. Around this time, the internet started to really take off, and icemedia - ever passionate about innovations in technology - was ready to take it on.
That's when we became a fully fledged website and application design and development company. We survived the dot com bubble burst to grow into a larger company with more and more skilled people joining our team. Awards and prizes followed. For details of these, see our Recognition and awards.
We became an attractive enterprise in a competitive marketplace, which is why Dialog Information Technology entered the scene. They liked what they saw in icemedia and purchased 50 per cent of the business. Then, in February 2007, Dialog purchased the company outright, giving icemedia full access to all the infrastructure and expertise of a larger organisation.
